Phase Change Materials or PCMs are materials that can be used to store heat energy during their phase change, usually from the solid to liquid phase. These materials store higher heat energy during their phase change (latent heat) than their specific heat capacity during normal heating (sensible heat). Therefore, when the PCM is heated to the temperature range of its melting point, the temperature remains constant as the PCM melts from its solid to liquid state. Once the phase transition to the liquid state is completed, the temperature starts rising again. Hence, PCMs charged up to their melting point can be used to maintain a constant temperature throughout their phase transition, making them a suitable solution for the passive cooling of temperature-sensitive goods.
About PCM Cool Packs By Ecoradix
At Ecoradix, we have developed PCM Cool Packs using inorganic salt solutions as phase change materials. Our range of PCMs offers different melting points to provide passive cooling at different fixed temperatures during phase transition. These eco-friendly PCMs are tested for cycling stability and maintain the desired temperatures for the safe transport of thermo-sensitive goods like foods and pharmaceuticals.
Our PCM Cool Packs are rigid tabs filled with PCM to maintain the desired cool temperatures in cold chain packaging. These cool packs are available in a range of sizes and temperature options to cater to different types of temperature-sensitive cargo.
