Ecoradix

Our Story

EcoRadix is the brainchild of technologists who are passionate about developing sustainable solutions to minimize the carbon footprint of the cold chain logistics industry, which is essential for the safe transport of pharmaceuticals, food, and other temperature-sensitive products across various distances. The inception of Ecoradix was triggered by the realization that various unsustainable products and practices widely used in cold chain logistics can lead to grave environmental pollution and climate change. We noticed that the use of unsustainable fossil fuels, single-use materials, and non-biodegradable packaging is currently rampant in the cold chain logistics industry, posing various environmental hazards

Therefore, we were determined to create sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives for these unsustainable cold chain products, leveraging green energy, recyclable and reusable materials, and sustainable methods like passive cooling. Thus, we started Ecoradix, a company that has developed various zero carbon footprint cold chain packaging and solutions to cater to the diverse cold chain logistical needs of the healthcare, food, and e-commerce industries. With our environment-friendly cold chain solutions, we aim to minimize the adverse impacts of cold chain logistics on the planet, ensuring that the industry’s essential logistical needs are met without damaging precious ecosystems.

About Us

We are Ecoradix, a sustainability-driven company that offers zero carbon footprint cold chain products and solutions for the logistics of temperature-sensitive products. Our diverse range of cold storage products is suitable for the transport of pharmaceuticals, food items, clinical samples, vaccines, and other perishable temperature-sensitive products to short or long-range locations, at the desired temperature. Our cold chain solutions are eco-friendly and are carefully designed for the safe transport of precious cargo of different sizes and temperature requirements across short or long distances. Thus, we cater to all the cold chain logistical needs of the healthcare, pharmaceutical, food, and e-commerce industries while helping them minimize their carbon footprint.

What is cold chain?

Cold Chain Logistics refers to the transport of temperature-sensitive materials, such as food, pharmaceuticals, or clinical samples, along a supply chain, by creating temperature-controlled environments throughout the supply chain using refrigerated vehicles, insulated packaging materials, or other cold chain technologies. Cold chain logistics thus involves careful planning of the packaging, handling, and transport of temperature-sensitive products from the point of procurement to the point of delivery, to maintain their quality and integrity throughout the supply chain.

Some of the commonly required temperature ranges for cold chain logistics are the following –

Ambient Temperature

Many fruits and vegetables can be safely transported in temperatures ranging between 10°C and 18°C, referred to as ambient temperature

Chilling Temperature

Chilling is the application of temperatures in the range of 0°C–8°C, that is, above the freezing point of the food.  Various pharmaceuticals, vaccines, fresh fruit juices, and perishable agricultural produce from cold regions can be transported safely at chilling temperatures.

Sub-zero Temperature

Meat and fish need to be transported just below 0°C or at sub-zero temperature.

Freezing Temperature for Ice Cream

Ice cream needs to be stored and transported strictly in the range of -14°C to -20°C freezing temperature.

Freezing Temperature for medical products

Freezing temperature is well below freezing point, conventionally below −18°C.  Many vaccines, life-saving drugs, and medicines require a temperature range of -20°C to -70°C for storage and transportation.

UNICEF, the largest provider of vaccines worldwide, plays a crucial role in immunizing children and saving lives globally. Through partnerships and extensive distribution networks, UNICEF ensures equitable access to life-saving vaccines, reaching even the most remote and marginalized communities.
Cold chain logistics uses a variety of technologies to provide the desired temperature range for the storage and transport of products. The key elements of the cold chain are:

The various cold chain technologies and products used to maintain optimal temperature throughout the cold chain include dry ice, gel packs, liquid nitrogen, eutectic plates, reefers (temperature-controlled vehicles), insulated containers and quilts. These technologies are deployed for the transport of different products based on the nature of the product and the distance it has to be carried over.

As of 2023, the global cold chain logistics market is estimated to grow at the rate of 15% over the next 10 years and generate a revenue of almost USD 1,220 billion by 2033. Since the cold chain logistics industry is rapidly expanding, and is essential for the safe transport of crucial products like vaccines, clinical samples, and food, developing and adopting sustainable cold chain technologies is the need of the hour. By choosing our eco-friendly and sustainable cold chain solutions, companies can reduce their carbon footprint and contribute towards environmental health while transporting their essential products to various locations across the globe.
